Project

Project Goal

The International Heliophysics Year (IHY) in 2007 was supported by the United Nations on the 50th anniversary of the space age, and was carried out through international collaborative programs (https://www.esa.int/). The main aim of IHY is to demonstrate the importance of studies in Space and Earth Sciences. Our closest star, the Sun, provides us with living conditions on Earth as we know it. The Sun is part of the global picture within which our planet is situated, and can be used as an innovative tool to create awareness among children about this subject.

It is important to conduct educational activities on the topic of space weather and to contribute to society in this process. It would be useful, especially for children, who are our future, to raise their awareness/educate them about the relationship between the Sun and Earth (Tulunay, 2008; https://ilovemysun.net/).The most important aim of the project is to inform children about space weather, the Sun, and the relationships between the Sun and Earth, and to make them aware of how they are part of this global picture. Additionally, while providing this education, it is aimed to observe the extent to which music and art facilitate children’s learning of science.

Within the scope of the project, it is aimed to compare the effect of music and art skills on children’s perception skills.

The International Year of the Sun social assistance and education program focuses on the following topics:

*Developing an original and exciting social program on a global scale

*Increasing the visibility of existing corporate social responsibility programs.

The privilege of this project proposal is to develop the “I Love My Sun” project in original regions and conditions within a short period of time. The same method and outputs can be adapted to subsequent developments and generalization studies.
